After many years as a pre-school teacher, Farida Mawji attended a clay workshop. That short exposure awakened a passion for the work to which she now dedicates much of her
time.
Form, texture and color are the three elements that excite her, and they are all used as vehicles for artistic expression in her work.
These three elements, shape, texture, and colour are influenced by her East Indian heritage, her African roots, and her travels as well as her
present environment on beautiful Vancouver island.
Farida an active member of the South Vancouver Island Potters Guild.
