Ann Semple

Ann was first introduced to clay in the 1970′s and although she loved it immediately, it wasn’t until the kids were grown and flown that she was able to spend serious time working with clay and open her own pottery studio. The glazes on her pots often reflect the palette of colours found in the trees, sea and the skies of the west coast, although there are occasionally some striking divergences.

For the most part, her pottery is functional although it is not uncommon to find the occasional whimsically functional piece (that is, functional, but containing some element of whimsy), and from time to time, some just plain non-functional pieces find their way into her studio.
